Mustard.

{Cardigan: Target | Dress: Forever 21 | Belt: Kohl's | Sandals: Salt Water via Zappos | Watch: Urban Outfitters}

Under normal circumstances, I steer clear of mustard. I mean that more ways than one. I don't eat mustard. Not Dijon, not French's, not any type of mustard. I also don't wear the color mustard. I don't even really like the color mustard. I had one mustard dress about 5 years ago. I wore it one time. I don't even know why I wore it. I don't even like mustard.

But this cardigan works for me. Especially with purple. You all studied the color wheel at some time in your life, right? Hello, contrasting colors. My Salt Water sandals were a big hit at work, as the 3 little gals in Kindergarten all have them, too. I was so in with the in-crowd. (Suggestions welcome on other ways to wear these bright purple sandals.)

So, I'm okay with the color mustard now, I guess. But don't ever try to make me eat it.

Pastel Prep

{Shirt: Old Navy | Pants: Forever 21 | Sandals: Salt Water | Blazer: Alloy | Bracelet: Betsey Johnson | Watch: Nordstrom}

Summer is steadily approaching, and pastels aren't going anywhere! I mixed my classic pastel pieces with a heavier classic - the nautical navy blazer! - and a summer classic - my trusty Salt Water sandals! I've been wearing Salt Waters since I was probably 2 years old, so nothing screams summer to me like these bad boys, especially in sunshine yellow!

Heaven Is a Halfpipe

{Shirt: Chaser LA | Shorts: True Religion DIY | Sandals: Salt Water | Fanny pack: Forever 21 (gift) | Watch: Nordstrom | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture}

And today is the day I looked like a 13-year-old boy. Seriously, with my middle-parted newly-short beach hair, this oversized top, and the long shorts, I felt like I should be skateboarding with a bunch of prepubescent ne'er-do-wells.

I love this shirt because 1) it is tie-dyed 2) the dancing Grateful Dead bears have always reminded me of Hawaii. When I was little, my parents and I would go to Maui every summer, and always have yummy breakfast at Stella Blues, Jerry Garcia's restaurant. We weren't on Maui this time, but I thought the dancing bears deserved a vacay, too.

This shirt does, however, have quite an oversized and boxy fit, so I think it needs to be paired with something like a pair of high-waisted vintage cut-off shorts - you know, like the kind the new pseudo-indie girls spend their days pulling out of their rear-ends. How would you style this tee?

Day 3 in Portlandia

{Blouse: American Apparel | Pants: Sanctuary via Nordstrom | Sandals: Salt Water via Zappos | Necklace: flammable hearts on etsy | Purse & Butterfly ring: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Luna | Watch: Nordstrom | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture}

This post is super photo-heavy! Hope y'all don't mind! :) Today, we went on a tour of Multnomah Falls and the Bonneville Lock & Dam. The waterfalls and scenery were so stunning! It also totally cooled down today, which was magical. Picking up where I left off, back to updated '90s grunge with faded florals + cargo pants. ;) Accented by accessory overload! I totally wanted to jump into the waterfalls with my Salt Water sandals!

One of my mom's & my favorite parts about sightseeing? The gift shops, of course. I got this super cool Native American-inspired copper cuff. Then I realized (and fear) that it may be some sort of fertility"good luck charm." You be the judge...

Last but not least, I cannot believe I forgot to mention that we went to Voo-Doo Donuts on our first night here... Holy guacamole, or shall I just say, holy DONUTS. I got the Cap'n Crunch one!

We leave tomorrow to go back to reality. Sigh. Portland, you've been good to me once again!

I only have one thing to say.

{Headband: American Apparel | Dress: Forever 21 | Sandals: Salt Water via Zappo | Earrings & Watch: Nordstrom | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture}
All I have to say about this outfit, is that the kids in my class were really P.O.ed that I wouldn't sit "criss-cross applesauce" at circle time.

I can't stop blushing...

{Top: Volcom via Laguna Surf & Sport | Shorts: Foreign Exchange | Sandals: Salt Water | Watch: Nordstrom | Cuff & Turquoise ring: Luna B | Heart pin: bando | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture}
Day 2 of my San Diego trip. Off to the Wave House to see A-Trak. (Whom, may I add, I didn't actually stay to see haha.) The Wave House is a pretty cool venue right on Mission Beach, with a big man-made wave, and the entire floor is covered in sand! I wore these sandals because, not only are they cute, but they're actually water shoes! I was able to rinse them off afterwards and they are good as new!

I got this shirt at Laguna Surf & Sport while I was on break from work. I must admit, I wasn't necessarily in the market for anything. However, lately I cannot resist blush tones, nor was I able to resist the adorable boys chatting me up while I shopped. Let's all just pretend they were over 18... Ok, now I really AM blushing.

Purple.

{Nordstrom top & watch | Urban Outfitters cardigan | Old Navy jeans | Salt Water sandals | Vintage pendant}
I find this outfit bizarre, in some ways. I think it's weird that I wore yellow and purple together. I think it's weird that anyone would even make a yellow & purple top. I think it's weird that I matched my shoes to my top. I think it's weird that I put 3 non-matching shades of purple together. Like I said, bizarre. That said, I'm pretty into it nonetheless.

Me & My Shadow...

{Dress: Boutique in Portland | Cardigan: Zara | Belt: Kohl's | Heart pin: bando | Sandals: Salt Water}

I interrupt your regularly scheduled 30 for 30 to bring you... Everybody, Everywear! I must admit, when I first read that yellow was chosen as a theme, I thought (no offense), are you beezies crazy?! I have nothing personally against yellow... I just happen to own zero pieces of yellow clothing. Seriously though, zero. And then I remembered my brand-newly purchased pair of yellow Salt Water Sandals! Are these the best ever? Yes, yes they are. All of the little kids at my work have them, and when I discovered that they make them in adult sizes, I had a conniption fit. Conniption fit for me translates into purchasing a couple pairs immediately online. Yes ma'am.

Also, can my shadow back off of my photos? Thanks a lot!
