Goodbye 2011!

I still can't believe 2011 is coming to a close! It really did go by quickly! I'm so happy that I've taken this year to grow in life and in style! I started The Daily Dani almost 1 year ago and I've met so many wonderful people through the blogging world. Here's just a little peek at my favorite outfits from throughout the past 12 months.

Here's to many more outfits, cultivating our fabulous friendships, and lots and lots of happiness, love, and laughter! Cheers to 2012! <3

Time spent in Los Angeles...

{Vest: Wilson Leather | Tee: Craft Fair | Jeans: Just Fabulous | Boots: Steve Madden}

Yes, I know there's something entirely silly about wearing faux shearling in December over a t-shirt, let alone one labeled "Los Angeles." And that's precisely why I wore it.

Melissa got me this vest from her work and my mom got me this shirt from a craft fair we visited together - happy holidays to me! I wore this for a lunch with my long-time friend Tatiana on a particularly warm and sunny day at the beach. It's continuing to be quite warm here during the day, but still rather chilly at night - it really throws me off!

Do you all have any tips for preparing for day-to-night temperature drops?

Colorblock!

{Sweater: Old Navy | Pants: Urban Outfitters | Moccasins: Minnetonka | Necklace: Luna}

I wore this on Christmas Eve on a particularly lovely day in Orange County. We're continuing to have a slew of lovelier and lovelier days, actually. Mid-high '70s are on the way, and it's December! Is it weird to say I kind of miss the rain? I would have liked it while I was on Winter Break, when I have the option of staying cuddled up inside! I have an overwhelming fear that on Tuesday morning, upon 9am (when the children arrive back to school where I work) there will be a torrential downpour and we'll be stuck inside all day. Keep your fingers crossed for me. ;)

"Stay dry."

{Glasses: c/o GlassesUSA | Sweater: Luna | Leggings: Anthropologie | Socks: Old Navy | Boots: Hunter}
When I took these photos, I was in a great mood. Melissa was visiting from San Diego, I was wearing my new Hunter boots and my new glasses, and we were on our way to Disneyland. As my mom saw me come down the stairs on a sunny (albeit chilly) day wearing rain boots, she said, "Stay dry." I laughed. Then, we decided to go on splash mountain. I was soaked from the roots of my hair to the tips of my- Wait! To my knee caps. My Hunters saved my feed! Let's give thanks for the little things. ;)

More importantly...

How adorable are my new eyeglasses from GlassesUSA.com?! I was one of those weird kids who desperately wanted glasses, braces, and a retainer, and was super sad that I never got them. So initially, when GlassesUSA contacted me about trying out their frames, I was bummed because I still don't wear glasses! The site sells prescription glasses, but lucky for me, they also sell non-prescrip! I recently misplaced my "fashion frames," so the discovery of this awesome site came at the perfect time! They have such a great assortment, an awesome online try-on feature, and very easy ordering. If you are in the market to buy glasses, I highly recommend you check out GlassesUSA!

Plus, right now they have a few specials going on! Take 30% off any pair of eyeglasses and get FREE US shipping with the code Holiday11, OR take 10% off any order with the code Blog10!

These are the Xray MG-21s in black, but make sure you check out the rest of their adorable frames, too!

I should be playing in the winter snow; but Imma be under the mistletoe...

{Dress: Urban Outfitters | Leggings: Anthropologie | Flats: Tory Burch | Heart pin: bando | Bracelet: Craft fair (gift from Mom) | Arrow ring: Luna | Ruby ring: Vintage}
...Shawty with you. (Yes, the title of this post IS a Justin Bieber song. Yes, I DID have a romantic dream about Justin Bieber last week. Yes, I am proud of this.)

Moving on...

This is what I wore yesterday for the Christmas festivities! In all honesty, I planned to wear this dress with a red cardigan and green boots to up the Christmas spirit, but it was 75 here. Not that I'm complaining! It just put a damper on my wardrobe plans. ;)

I have been in love with these Tory Burch flats for years and years. I finally decided to ask my Dad for them as a holiday/birthday gift (as my birthday is in about 3 weeks!) last year. He is a master eBayer, and so I told him not to pay full price for these, because they are pretty darn expensive! Well, it took him a year, but after 3 failed attempts with skeezy sellers, he finally found me this brand-new pair of perfect flat leather Reva flats. :) I'm in love!

I spent the holiday at my friend Chelsea's house. My family has been spending Christmas with them for probably 20 years, at what we like to call the "Wandering Jew" party. It's always a great mix of friends, family, deep-fried turkey, and love. Wouldn't have it any other way!

What did you all do for Chrismahanukwanzikah?

...Seriously though, have you all listened to the Bieb's Christmas album? ;)

Blogger Feature: Anna of Fash Boulevard

This week, I'm so happy to feature the lovely Anna of Fash Boulevard! Her style is so impeccable and creative, and I love all of her celebrity features. You've got to check out her Fash Fail/Fave Fridays! Read on for some insight into what inspires Anna's adorable, fun style!

3 words to describe your personal style?
Classic, dramatic, and girly.

Who are your celebrity style icons?

Rachel Zoe is sort of that fashion Barbie doll we all wish we could be. She's always inspiring me to add a little something extra to each outfit. Nicole Richie was one of my first style crushes and I really loved following the evolution of her style. Lately she's been wearing a lot of stunning dresses with minimal accessories which I'm sort of obsessed with. When it comes to everyday style, Rachel Bilson is always classically chic while still being very real and current.

How would you style the classic LBD to reflect your personal style?

A faux fur coat with tights and a pair of sky high Mary Jane pumps. And of course I would top my look off with a few pieces of statement jewelry including an oversized cocktail ring, which is always a must for me.

Fashionably, what tv shows and movies have inspired you most?

I love the 1940's style throughout "The Notebook." It's glamorous and classic and just another great excuse to watch an all time fave of mine. Another would have to be "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for making the little black dress forever iconic. I also love Kate Hudson's free-spirited and whimsical style in "Almost Famous." I can see Rachel Zoe rocking pretty much all of Kate's pieces. And of course "Sex and the City." Anything good enough for Carrie Bradshaw is good enough for me.

I splurge on: classic pieces such a faux fur coat or intricately detailed lace and sequin dresses that I know will be in my closet far beyond the current season. And I save on: fast fashion items, by shopping at stores like H&M and Forever 21. If it's going to be out of style in two weeks it's not worth breaking the bank.

One trend I'm dying to try is: A turban headband. I have yet to find the perfect one but one of these days I’m going to pull off the Mary Kate Olsen turban headband look.

I feel most myself when I’m wearing: Heels. I would sleep in them if I could. I don't feel complete until I have a pair on and nothing makes me happier then adding a new pair to my collection!

Stripes, etc.

{Top: Old Navy | Pants: Urban Outfitters | Boots: Steve Madden | Watch: Nordstrom | Purse: Luna}
 Eloquence eludes me today. Summary of my thoughts: I like this monochromatic outfit. I also like stripes. Boots, too. Insert funny joke here.

We Bought A Zoo.

{Blazer: Forever 21 | Tee: Nordstrom | Scarf: Foreign Exchange (free gift) | Jeans: Old Navy | Bracelet | Gift | Flats: Yosi Samra}

So, it isn't true. We DIDN'T buy a zoo. But the combination of my snake flats, leopard cuffs, and overall foliage reminded me of a zoo. And the movie coming out with one of the silliest names I've ever heard.

Can I tell you how obsessed I am with these flats?! After hearing Chelsea's glowing recommendations, I had to try a pair myself - and oh boy, am I glad I did! They totally mold to my feet and they make me happy every time I look down! Basically, I want them in every color and print!

I wore this outfit over the weekend for a lunch reunion at Umami Burger with my mom and some lifelong family friends. Have any of you ever had "umami," the "5th flavor?" Well, it was my first time trying it, and I'm under the impression that it maybe just tastes like a tweaked horseradish. To be further determined...

Also, I've included another outtake in this post. How do you feel about my grasshopper leg? Yeah, I like it, too.
