Fall Fashion Rocks at Aeropostale

{sweater: c/o aeropostale | tee: billabong (gift) (similar) | jeans: forever 21 | sandals: rainbows}
Have you all checked out your local Aeropostale store lately? They have some amazing pieces for fall! I love the way their latest looks so easily combine classics with a vintage-inspired touch. For example - this perfectly classic sweater coat, with a beautiful rose-printed update! It was the perfect cozy cover-up when I went to the Orange County fair to see Hall & Oates last week, and I can't wait to work it into my fall wardrobe!

I can't wait to show you some more adorable pieces from Aeropostale's fall line as I style them up in the upcoming season!

Viva Las Vegas

{tee: gift | skirt: nastygal | heels: lulu's | necklace: forever 21 (gift from chelsea)
Last weekend I went to Las Vegas with my best friend Holly! Why, you ask? To see CELINE DION LIVE AT THE COLISEUM AT CAESAR'S PALACE - that's why! Seriously, though. We had a lot of fun - went to a club one night, spent tons of time choosing our outfits (think we had enough shoes to choose from?), bonding, laughing, and singing our little hearts out to Our Heart Will Go On, and more!

California Summer (Maxi Skirts + Graphic Tees)

{shirt: love nail tree via craft fair (gift) | skirt: target | necklace: flammable hearts}
As summer has officially reared its head, and temperatures begin to rise, pants start to feel unbearable here in Southern California! My solution? Maxi skirts; duh! By pairing a perfectly cool and partially cropped graphic tee with a classic straight maxi, adding a fancy-free accessory, and throwing in some simple sandals, you can stay cool and fashionable in the summer heat!

Here are a few more ideas for pairing your maxis & tees together this summer!

My So-Called Outfit

{jacket: j. crew | dress & hat: asos | boots: steve madden | necklace: flammable hearts}
So I am a super major huge fan of My So-Called Life. I watched it when it was on when I was in 3rd grade, and loved it. Then all through high school my dad and I scoured the internet to find the DVD release of the series, finally found it, devoured it again, and continued to love it. I started re-watching the series with my best friend and roommate Melissa during college, and continued to love it. And lately, they've been showing (and I've been DVRing) it on the Sundance Channel, and I am still head over heels in love.

That being said, I ordered my dress with 1995 in mind. A fall colored floral swing dress? Spot on. I added the olive beanie, Doc Marten-esque combat boots, and dream catcher to really seal that girly take on 1990s grunge. I was super tempted to tie a plaid shirt around my waist, but I just wasn't sure my coworkers would understand! ;)

Have you ever seen My So-Called Life? Does 1990s style ever inspire you?

Pattern Mixing 101

{sweater: h&m | leggings: stylemint | boots: steve madden | necklace: craft fair | watch: nordstrom}

I'm a major fan of pattern mixing, but it can be tough for some people to get on board with! The easiest form of pattern mixing? Stripes & florals! Stripes & florals are the gateway print mix. All you have to do is make sure that your stripe contains at least one of the same colors as your floral! (In this case, both black & white can be found in my floral!) Easy as pie! Anchor it down with some neutral staples, and you've got yourself the first step in Pattern Mixing 101!

Cowgirl Chic?

{jacket: j. crew | tee: everlane | skirt, belt, & boots: target | necklace: vintage}
The minute I saw these boots, the only pair left at a dwindling Target shoe section, I knew I had to have them. They are basically me, as a boot. The southwestern, multicolored yarn detailing is so pretty! I thought they needed to be paired with a basic ensemble, so I went for a simple black skirt, white t, and denim jacket. The only problem? I'm pretty sure I look a little bit like a cowgirl...

{Sweater: Romwe | Jeans: Forever 21 | Boots: Minnetonka | Necklace: via Chasing Davies giveaway | Watch: Nordstrom}

What is there to say about this outfit? I love my fringed Minnetonka boots, this oversized red shredded sweater is super comfy, and this necklace added a lovely finishing touch. Simple, comfortable, casual chic!

Friday's Fancies: Bonfire Beauties

{Cardigan / Booties / Jeans / Shirt / Watch / Bracelet / Ring / Scarf}
This week's Friday's Fancies theme is Bonfire Beauties! I don't know what it's like in other parts of the country, but here in Southern California, a bonfire means a late night at the beach, hot dogs and s'mores, and bundled up layers! It's just finally getting chilly enough here in So Cal to start wearing layered looks, knits, booties, and scarves! I wish I had every piece of this outfit, because I'd be wearing it today! Time to start a holiday wish list!

LWD ~ Little White Dress

{Dress: Nordstrom | Boots: Steve Madden | Necklace: flammable hearts etsy shop | Watch: Urban Outfitters}

I've always been in the market for the perfect "little white dress." I have a lace number, and a plain cotton cheap-o one, but I've never found one that looks quite so effortless - until now! I got this sweet little button-down on my little personal shopping experience at Nordstrom. It's so comfortable and easy, a classic with a twist.

I wore this last weekend to The Smokehouse for a family brunch, and my biggest challenge was keeping it clean, in spite of hanging out with a 2- and 4-year-old, eating lots of bacon, and wearing pink lipstick. Mission accomplished! But let it be known, this blindingly white dress will never see the light of day at preschool!
