Pretty outfit / Ugly wall.

{Dress: Target | Scarf: Foreign Exchange | Sandals: O'Neill via Huntington Surf & Sport | Watch: Nordstrom | Turquoise bracelet & Studded bangle: Luna | Copper cuff: Multnomah Falls Gift Shop}

Today, I told my mom, "I want to take my pictures in front of this ugly wall." She was displeased, but I am pleased with the (semi-) blank canvas that it provided me with.

Moving on, I forgot about this dress. I bought it over a year ago, wore it once, washed it, threw it back in the closet, and totally forgot about it. In my great 6.5-hour closet purge & organization fest on Saturday, I rediscovered it, and am pleasantly pleased to say that I'm still pretty into it. I threw this Aztec-print scarf on top, slipped on my rainbow huarache-esque sandals, piled on the mini arm parties, and felt really laid-back, casual, and comfy.

My perfect maxi dress.

{Dress: Urban Outfitters | Sandals: Rainbow | Bangles & Watch: Nordstrom)

Ok, everyone. I'm obsessed with this dress. Obsessed. I wore it all day Sunday and all day Monday. Yep. I did. This includes going to a play, to dinner, out for drinks, as well as a day at Disneyland. Do you think it could possibly be appropriate to wear every other day of this week, too? I think so. And I might even wash it...

Blogger Feature: Amanda of Color Me Blue

Today I've got a Q&A with the lovely Amanda of Color Me Blue! Please make sure you check out her fantastic, eclectic city-chic style over on her blog! :)

3 words to describe your personal style?
girly flower-child with a bit of edge

How would you style the classic LBD to reflect your personal style?
I would probably go boho with it and add some feather accessories and my favorite booties. I love standing out in the crowd, so I'd definitely want to jazz it up with prints and color.

What is your favorite/most versatile accessory?
I would have to say it's my moose necklace which you'll find all over my blog. I bought the pendant at a little bead store in San Francisco, attached it to a long chain, and it's become my favorite accessory! I love that's simple yet quirky.

Who are your favorite bloggers, and why?
That's a tough one - I don't want to sound cliche, but I'd have to say Cupcakes and Cashmere is an all time favorite. I also love Song of Style. I'd say my style is sort of a mixture of the two!

Where do you find inspiration for your outfits?
I find inspiration for my outfits all over the place - browsing through blogs, magazines, or just walking down the streets of San Francisco and people watching! While I love exploring blogs, I try not to let other bloggers' styles influence me too much. It's important to me to stay true to myself and to always remain unique!

That's how you let the beat build...

{Top, Watch, & Bangles: Nordstrom | Jeans & Sandals: JustFab | Earrings: House of Harlow | Stackable Initial Rings: Urban Outfitters}

Last night my best friends Holly, Melissa, and I went to the Lil Wayne concert in Irvine! It was so fun! Keri Hilson was one of the opening acts. She was really personable on stage and her dancing was so good! Lil Wayne was amazing - he puts on a great show and we danced the entire time!

What was the real problem? I'll admit, I had NO clue what to wear to a hip-hop concert! So I just went for what I'd wear to any concert - something nice and comfy! I think this top is really fun, because it's mixed media - sheer in the front and collar/cuffs, but jersey in the back. I think the pleat on the back is super cute, too! Luckily we weren't too affected by the 90-degree heat, so we had a couple of cocktails, and greatly enjoyed the evening!

Flashback Friday: ASB Banquet 5/2003

{Everything: Gap Outlet in Cabazon}

Let's all ignore the fact that I'm hugging this tree? Not really sure what that's about.

Moving on, this was what I wore to the ASB Banquet when I got "inducted" at the end of 10th grade. I used to LOVE this outfit. I mean LOVE. I also happened to wear it to Confirmation a couple weeks before in 10th grade. Seriously, you guys, have you ever been to a Gap outlet? If not, find your nearest one, and get a running start. You will come out with hundreds of dollars worth of ish for probably 25% of the cost. Some outlets stink, but Gap outlets are keepers! Ok, now find one and go!

Neutral monochromatic.

{Dress & Stackable initial rings: Urban Outfitters | Sandals: O'Neill via Huntington Surf & Sport | "Bamboo" bracelet & Watch: Nordstrom}

So, neutrals have been in lately. Monochromatic looks have been in, too. So I figured, why not kill 2 birds with one stone? Not to mention, this is also kind of monochromatic with my hair and face, too. Way to go, Dani.

Seriously though, kids, this dress is crazy comfy, and light as linen, and easy breezy for the "close" of summer. I use the word "close" loosely, as summer doesn't end till mid-October in southern California, so I fear that the nastiest heat is just getting underway. TGFD. Thank goodness for dresses. Something tells me, "TGFD" isn't going to be catching on...

Peace out, P-Town

Today was my last day in Portland! Mama & I took on the city on our own today - yummy lunch at Kenny & Zuke's, visiting the craft museum, and one more stop at Voo-Doo Donuts. (Chocolate-peanut butter-rice krispie donut. Don't judge me!)

One regret: I didn't get to meet up with Van! We put 2 and 2 together way too late, and our schedules just didn't mesh! Now I know for the future - post my travel plans on my blog, because it is such a shame to be within miles of a blogging buddy and not end up getting to link up! Next time, lady!

It was a quick trip, but ever so lovely. (Thanks, Mom!) Can't wait till we go back!

And a good time was had by all. :)

Day 3 in Portlandia

{Blouse: American Apparel | Pants: Sanctuary via Nordstrom | Sandals: Salt Water via Zappos | Necklace: flammable hearts on etsy | Purse & Butterfly ring: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Luna | Watch: Nordstrom | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture}

This post is super photo-heavy! Hope y'all don't mind! :) Today, we went on a tour of Multnomah Falls and the Bonneville Lock & Dam. The waterfalls and scenery were so stunning! It also totally cooled down today, which was magical. Picking up where I left off, back to updated '90s grunge with faded florals + cargo pants. ;) Accented by accessory overload! I totally wanted to jump into the waterfalls with my Salt Water sandals!

One of my mom's & my favorite parts about sightseeing? The gift shops, of course. I got this super cool Native American-inspired copper cuff. Then I realized (and fear) that it may be some sort of fertility"good luck charm." You be the judge...

Last but not least, I cannot believe I forgot to mention that we went to Voo-Doo Donuts on our first night here... Holy guacamole, or shall I just say, holy DONUTS. I got the Cap'n Crunch one!

We leave tomorrow to go back to reality. Sigh. Portland, you've been good to me once again!
