Coachella Round-Up - Day 2!

{Top & Skirt: F21 | Necklace: three green hearts via Luna | Bracelet: Stella & Dot | Boots: Journey's}

{Glasses: UO}

Time for Day 2 - we were back to Indio at a balmy noontime 97 degrees. I'll be honest, after our walk from the car, we spent a nice portion of our early afternoon in the H&M Water Conscious Tent. It was just so hot! Once we cooled our bodies down and hydrated, we headed over to watch Freelance Whales. I had never heard of them before, and I was so pleasantly surprised! They had lovely tunes and were very calming to relax and listen to in a (slightly - haha!) shady tent.

Next, we headed into the sunshine to watch Erykah Badu!

She was so peaceful, funny, and fantastic! Hearing "On & On" was an amazing opportunity. I also wish I had been able to snap a photo of her ring - she had on a multi-finger gold arrow/airplane that was smashing! (If anyone can find a snapshot of or some info about that beauty, please send it my way!)

Next, Melissa wanted to watch one of her favorite DJs - Laidback Luke. I must admit, I had a hard time being in the EDM tent most of the time - heavy dancing combined with heavy crowds and heavy heat is rough! After half of Laidback Luke's set, we went to watch what was left of The New Pornographers' set!

I've seen The New Pornographers once before, about 5 years ago, which left me anxious to see them again! They put on such a great performance once again, and were so positive and happy! I was really thrilled that they played 3 of my favorite songs of their's - The Laws Have Changed, Mass Romantic, and Challengers. I'm ready to see them for a third time!

After The New Pornographers, we moved onto the artist I had been waiting to see for, well, the past ten years - Bright Eyes!

When I found out that Bright Eyes was going to be at Coachella, I knew that I had to go again this year! I must tell you, Conor Oberst certainly didn't disappoint me! He began with much of his newer material, but ended with a bang with three of my favorite staples - Lover I Don't Have To Love, The Calendar Hung Itself, and Road To Joy. Not only was his musicality spectacular, but he was so friendly to the crowd. He showed true gratitude and appreciate for his audience, as well as to be included in this festival. I was literally screaming with happiness and smiling from ear to ear during and after this performance! Flawless!

Before we left for the night, we stuck around for some Mumford & Sons.

These guys were great! I've heard that they are fantastic live, and I've heard correctly! They are definitely high-energy, incredibly talented crowd-pleasers! They were a great way to end Day 2, and I would love to see them again in a more intimate setting!

'Till Day 3...

  6. I love, love The New Pornographers. I saw them in 2010 and they were amazing. Seeing them live only made me love them more. Luckily the entire band was touring. Challengers is my all-time favorite song of theirs.
