Coachella Day 3: Maxi Dress & Flower Crown

I know, I know. Flower crowns and Coachella are totally cliche, but I had to do it - because how often will I get the chance to wear a flower crown again?! I wrestled with what to pair this crown with for awhile - I had a few different cutoff/t-shirt combos in tow, but ultimately, I decided to belt this maxi and go full-blown flowerchild!

My final day of Coachella lineup: The Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, The Faint, Wu-Tang Clan, & Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's hard to decide on a favorite! The Lumineers were amazing, Vampire Weekend is always SO FUN, The Faint were a super-awesome dance party, and I'd been waiting to see RHCP forEVER, it feels like, so that was a fun set!

All in all, I had a great time hanging with my best friends, enjoying the sunshine, and dancing to amazing tunes all weekend! Looking forward to seeing who's up next year! :)

Camo, Stripes, & Turquoise.

Ahhh, the trifecta of favorites! Camo, stripes, & turquoise... I love them all, and I love them together! Plus, throw in a well-worn (or made to look well-worn haha) pair of jeans and some sweet tapestry boots, and I'm a happy lady! Sometimes, some classic, well-fit pieces and a big ol' statement necklace are all you need!

I know, I know. Here I go again with Rachel, but I just love her! Rachel's style is just always so classic, functional, and well-put together! Such an inspiration!

Since I'm still on the hunt for the perfect (and affordable) low-heeled tan boot, I went with my black cowboys instead. [Boot suggestions welcome!] Otherwise, I thought I was pretty on-the-money with my interpretation of Rachel's casual layered look!

Girly/Tough

I like to mix feminine pieces (aka a fuzzy floral sweater and light pink necklace) with harder pieces (like my leather leggings and "rugged" cowboy boots!) and I thought this outfit did just that trick! This sweater is one of my go-to staples when I'm in a yucky wardrobe mood and just need something that I know will always make me feel happy! (Truth be told, I've been in desperate need of those pick-me-up staples lately!)

Celeb Style - My Way: Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson was one of my first Celeb Style - My Way feature inspirations, more than 6 months ago! I have loved Rachel Bilson since she was on The OC, and haven't stopped since! Aside from the fact that she's a precious little actress and seems suuuuper cool in interviews, she has some of the best street style I've ever seen! I'd been wanting to try this look out for awhile, but had to wait till the weather accommodated both shorts & a blazer - thank you, awkward Indian summer.

Anyway, I love Rachel's style, but recently I noticed something about her style that differs from mine. Aside from her fantastic bags, flawless shades, and killer shoes, she hardly ever accessorizes with jewelry! I, personally, am a chronic over-accessorizer, so I thought it was interesting that she's one of my top style icons! I guess her style just goes to show that great pieces and impeccable styling can really make your look!

LWD ~ Little White Dress

I've always been in the market for the perfect "little white dress." I have a lace number, and a plain cotton cheap-o one, but I've never found one that looks quite so effortless - until now! I got this sweet little button-down on my little personal shopping experience at Nordstrom. It's so comfortable and easy, a classic with a twist.

I wore this last weekend to The Smokehouse for a family brunch, and my biggest challenge was keeping it clean, in spite of hanging out with a 2- and 4-year-old, eating lots of bacon, and wearing pink lipstick. Mission accomplished! But let it be known, this blindingly white dress will never see the light of day at preschool!
