My Uniform

A couple weeks ago when I wore a similar blazer & tee combo, Sarah told me that this was my "uniform!" To quote her exactly, "This outfit is so *you* to me! Basic tee, skinnies, cute flats, and a good blazer. If you are ever wondering what your uniform is, this is it, Dan!" So, she got me thinking... and she's right! I feel most comfortable lately in some form of a graphic tee and blazer! (This black blazer is my favorite!) I mixed it up this time by adding boyfriend jeans and a peep-toe, but I think the basic feel is the same!

Chevron + Leather & Suede

It was super cold and windy! Can you tell?! I wore this out to dinner and to the ballet with my mom. Yes, the ballet. So swanky, right? (I hated it, we left at intermission. Don't judge me.)

It had rained all day, and we thought we were in the clear - until we came out of dinner and it was POURING! We ran to and from our car and into the ballet - but this outfit was not a good choice for a rainy day! I guess I should have added a hat. ;)

Aside from being rained on and freezing, I loved  this outfit! I forgot about these boots, so I was excited to rediscover them, and I love this dress, so I was glad I got another chance to wear it! Ta-da!

Friday's Fancies: Pretty in Plaid

I love this week's Friday's Fancies theme! Why? Because I love plaid, of course! Plaid may as well be considered a neutral in my life. I love to mix plaid with Native American-inspired pieces, and it's so fun to off-play the rugged vibe of plaid by pairing it with a little sparkle! [See outfit #1!] Or, you can showcase it like I did with a stand-out pair of boots. I've been obsessing over this affordable pair (just try to talk me out of wanting them...), and now I'm also obsessing over that (unaffordable) Mulberry cream zig-zag purse... hellooooo, beautiful! [See outfit #2!]

Memorial Day brought with it some bright, warm, sunny weather! High 70s in the OC today meant pulling out my summer shorts and sandals! This weather (and outfit) made me so excited for summer, because I'm taking my first summer off of work since I was 17! I can't wait for this much-needed break!

And finally... I have something SUPER DUPER exciting to share! I'll be absent from the blog until next week, because I'm off to New Orleans tomorrow to meet up with my blogging bling ring: Bekah, Sarah, & Sarah for a long weekend of fun, food, and (if you will) merrymaking! I can't wait to spend time with these ladies, my blogging besties!

Waft and Weft

This dress actually has tiny pinstripes; it's odd how the print was distorted through the camera lens! It reminds me of when you try to take a photo of a TV or computer screen. Odd!

Anyway, I wish I'd chosen to take photos of this wearing the denim jacket I had on most of the day; it gave an extra element to the outfit. But alas, I added that piece after the fact.

I got these sandals to replace my favorite Steve Madden sandals that I lost last year. Tragic, I know. Hopefully I can come to love these as I loved my others

Stripes & Polka Dots

I wore this for "stripes and polka dots day" in the land of the 3-year-olds. I was a big hit, as I was wearing both stripes AND polka dots. I haven't been wearing as much color lately, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I've been gravitating towards a lot of blacks and subdued neutrals lately, but I'm usually the one in multiple shades of brightness! What does it all mean?! ;)


I'm off this morning for a nice long weekend vacation with my mom to Honolulu! Don't worry - I've got a few outfit posts scheduled for you while I'm gone! :)
