Blogger Feature: Jessica of Life & Style of Jessica Kane

Hi all! Welcome Jessica to my blog. When she contacted me about featuring her here, I was so excited, because not only is she super stylish, but she has an amazing message and point of view! :)

Classic, Comfortable, Affordable.

Who are your celebrity style icons?
Rachel Zoe, I swear, if she'd create style for my body, I'd wear it 24/7!

What is your favorite item in your closet?
Black Torrid Tuxedo Rouche 3/4 Sleeve Tuxedo Jacket. Perfection.

What would you consider the 5 essential items to a fashionable wardrobe?
Great pair of dark boot cut denim.
Perfect fitting bra (most plus size ladies don't put this on the list).
Sequin piece - jacket or skirt - in black or gold.
Black tuxedo blazer - like my Torrid one.
Red trench coat.

Fashionably, what time period inspires you most?
I'm really inspired by current style, and I'm not a trend baby, I'm drawn to classic pieces.

I splurge on COSMETICS and save on SHOES.

As a guru of plus size fashion in the blogosphere, what are your most important tips for plus size styling?
First, look in the mirror and say "I am damn sexy and can totally wear whatever I want."
Then, don't be afraid to show off your body and accentuate it!
The nature of being a plus size woman, means we are built differently, so dress for your shape. But, most importantly, dress in what makes you feel confident and amazing. Most plus size women feel they can't pull off the sequin skirt or romper, but it's truly mental and once you get past the barrier of how you envision your body, you'll find you feel amazing in anything you wear.

I think it is incredibly awesome that you are working on a body image accept campaign! What inspired you?
My life and my own battles with hating my body. I feel it's important to acknowledge women have so many pressures, women of all sizes, and that body acceptance is not a plus size issue - but a woman issue. I hope that through my blog and magazine that women will find the courage to stand up and love their bodies. Life is too short to hate what you look like, rather, spend it feeling good by eating healthy and enjoying life!
