Blogger Feature: Hannah of chill air & perfume

Hannah is one of my more recent blogging friends. Not only is she totally adorable, but she's an absolute sweetheart, too! Check out more of her cute outfits, vegetarian recipes, and fun photos from her life in Boston over at chill air & perfume!

3 words to describe your personal style?
Eclectic. Thrifty. Versatile. (Phew, that was difficult!)

What would you consider the 5 essential items to a fashionable wardrobe?
I'm going to answer this generally rather than specifically:
1. Classics
2. Basics
3. Statements
4. Versatile accessories
5. A few go-to items/outfits

Where do you find inspiration for your outfits?
Everywhere! I have an aesthetic appreciation for high fashion, but I personally prefer more accessible & affordable options. I read many fashion blogs – personal style & street style – and find inspiration there. I also find inspiration in anything & everything in other aspects of my life, whether it be window shopping, people on the street, artwork, or colors in nature.

Here in Southern California, we don't exactly get true "seasons." How does seasonal weather affect your wardrobe choices?
In New England, we experience four distinct seasons, sometimes all in the same week. This means my wardrobe is full of versatile items that I can wear in different ways as the seasons change. In summer, my outfits are generally simple & minimal, but in the cooler months I love finding new, creative ways to layer & wear pieces together.

As a student/young professional, how do you find a balance between fashion and comfort/professionalism/appropriateness?
I think it's largely a myth and/or excuse that style & comfort are mutually exclusive: girls don't need to wear sneakers & sweats to be comfortable, nor do we need to wear stilettos and ballgowns to be fashionable.
As a law student, I have quite a bit of freedom in what I can wear to class each day, but I always make an effort to be appropriate & somewhat professional - so, you know, no excessive cleavage or booty shorts.

What are your favorite trends for spring?

I've long been a fan of floral prints & other bold prints, so I'm glad to see that prints are big right now.  I also love the pastel trend, and I'm trying to add more to my wardrobe.

I feel most myself when I’m wearing:

A loose, flowy top & a sweater/cardigan with a great scarf.

Make sure you head on over to chill air & perfume to see more of Hannah!
