Simple, Classic, Playful

Who are your celebrity style icons?

Hmmm....I'm not much of a celebrity style guru honestly. I love the classics, Dianne Keaton, Audrey Hepburn, and Katherine Hepburn. They all exhibit a timeless sense of fashion that could look good in any place at any time. It's really so fresh.

What would you consider the 5 essential items to a fashionable wardrobe?

If I had to pick five darlings from my closet that I find utterly necessary for clothing myself every day, they would be:

1) Chambray button up. This goes anywhere in any season with anything. Jeans, boots, and vest in winter? Yup. Flowy skirt and wedges for spring? Sure. Pencil skirt and pumps for work? Why not. Seriously, this is one of my proudest "investments."

2) Skinny jeans. Preferably stretchy ones in a dark wash. These changed my life just a little bit. I am not a shorts girl, so my jeans are my best buds and these are mega comfy. And go with everything. In every season. Ching.

3) Nude pumps. They go with everything. And they make your legs look longer. Plus! And I think they give a little kick to, say, an all black outfit. The trade of nude for black can be a little unexpected and definitely fashionable.

4) Pencil skirt. I wear them to work, of course, but they are also great paired with an un-tucked button-up or a striped sweatshirt for a little weekend comfort. J.Crew nails this every time.

5) Belts. Several or just one. It's pretty much whatever you are willing to invest. They are like your own personal tailor. You can belt anything and make it look like it was made just for you. Dress, shirt, sweater, blazer. This is probably one of my favorite tips. Accentuate the small part of your waist. Bonus, it also accentuates the girls nicely. Ya gotta work with what ya got.

What is your favorite/most versatile accessory?

Right now? Probably the fedora. I wear mine allll the time. Especially on weekends. Mostly because they are cute and I am too lazy to wash and style my hair every day now that it's hot and sweaty in North Florida. And you guys thought I just wore them as a fashion statement. Muhahaha.

What is your go-to, never-fail casual outfit? "Formal" outfit?

Never fail casual outfit: Skinnies with a cute, flowy top and scarf belted and wedges. See hat info above.

Formal? The LBD is an obvious one, but seriously, you canNOT go wrong with this. Switch in statement necklace, scarf, big earrings, or a hair accessory and sexy heels, wedges, or pumps depending on the occasion. Blazers, sweaters, shawls, and vests can also do wonders for the little black dress. Am I forgetting anything? Probably. But I think you get the picture. I am a LBD advocate. period.
