Wine & Canvas

{cardigan: old navy (similar) | tee: everlane | skirt: american apparel | heels: kohl's (similar) | necklace: ily couture}

I wore this to paint my heart out at Wine & Canvas. My mom had attended one of their events awhile ago, and bought a Groupon for another, which she graciously gifted me, and I took my friend Ashley! Summary: We ventured to a cute little restaurant space in Santa Monica, had some wine, and took a little "class" where they taught us how to paint the designated art piece of the night - Eiffel Tower Lighted by Leonid Afremov!

It was so fun! I highly recommend seeing if there is a Wine & Canvas location in your area (they're all across the country!) - what a fun night out for a couple of girlfriends, a little party, or a date night!

Navy Stripes + Mustard Midi

{shirt: jcrew (similar) | skirt: modcloth | huaraches: justfab (similar) | watch: nordstrom (similar) | necklace: forever21 (gift from chelsea) (similar) (similar)}
I'm kind of in love with this outfit. Mustard is a super random color, but I kind of dig it, at least in my wardrobe. It's a randomly versatile shade! I paired it with navy here, and I think it went perfectly. I wore this basic tee (that I got on major sale from J. Crew awhile back!) and midi to keep me cool on a surprisingly warm spring day!

Polka Dilly

{dress: asos | belt: nasty gal | boots: shoemint}
Ahhh, super polka dots. Sometimes I buy things, wear them once, and then sort of forget about them. It's a flaw that needs correcting. Anyway, that's what happened with this dress. I bought it in December, wore it once, and then hung that cutie right back up. Since it's such a statement piece, I'm not sure how many ways there are to do it up! So, I added a mint belt and some heeled booties and rocked it again, in all its glory.

Any suggestions for how to remix this dress?

"I'm running out of polka dot blog post titles."

{dress: asos | sandals: old navy | bubble necklace: ily couture | monogram necklace: baublebar | watch: nordstrom}
I wore this over Thanksgiving weekend when I (1) took a final and (2) met Elle from Living in Color!

First, who holds a final on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend?! My school, apparently! Ridic. Oh well, at least I was complimented on my outfit and aced the class! ;)

Second, Elle and I have been blogging buddies for quite some time now, and since she's originally from the OC, I was so excited that when she came home from Thanksgiving weekend, we were able to meet up! We got coffee and shopped around South Coast Plaza! We were so caught up in being obsessed with each other that we forgot to take a photo together! Can you believe it?! Oh well, next time! :)

P.S. As we were shopping, I was, of course, attracted to everything polka dots! I told Elle, "I can't buy anymore polka dotted items because I'm running out of polka dot blog post titles!" And there you have it. Haha.

A Striped Steal

{T-shirt: StyleMint | Skirt: Old Navy | Sandals: ShoeDazzle | Necklace: Nordstrom | Ring: Vintage (Grandma's)}
Guess how much this skirt cost? Go on, give it a guess! Wrong. :) It was $4.98 in the Old Navy clearance section. That price blew my mind! I'm going to admit it to you guys, I may not have bought this skirt if it had been full-priced. I know you aren't supposed to buy something just because it's cheap or on sale, but hey, we all have our the occasional (or in my case, extremely often) moments of fashion weakness!

Palm Springs: Night 1!

{Dress: Lulu's | Sandals: Old Navy}

After a lovely afternoon of outlet shopping, some delicious fish tacos at the Crazy Coyote, and a little swimming and suntanning, mom & I had some complementary hotel happy hour cocktails, spruced up, and went out to a delicious dinner at Lulu's.

I used to have an innate hatred for animal print-floral combos, but something about this dress just screamed gorgeous tropical vacation to me. Safe to say, I love this particular print, and I'll be bringing it on just about every single warm weather vacation I have from here on out. I can't wait to wear it on my honeymoon. After I get married. After I get engaged. After I get a boyfriend...

Anyway, don't you love this dress? ;)

Polka King of the Midwest

{Top & Sandals: Old Navy | Skirt: Windsor | Belt: Nordstrom | Watch: Shock Boutique | Tortoise bracelet: J. Crew | Initial bracelet: Charlie & Marcelle etsy shop | Ring & gold bracelet: Vintage (Aunt's)}

This outfit just made me feel lovely. Maybe it's all the Mad Men I've been watching (I've only got 5 episodes left of Season 4!), but this outfit felt like it had the perfect amount of a retro element, with a modern twist.

I wore it last weekend to see a great play (called "The Convert") at the Kirk Douglas in Culver City with my mom and grandma, and then to a lovely early dinner at L'epicerie Market with them and my aunt and uncle for an early Mother's Day treat. Holy croque monsieur!

Bonus friendship points to anyone who can name the movie that my title comes from!

Celeb Style - My Way: Ashley Olsen

{Sweater: Nordstrom | Jacket: Target | Skirt: Forever 21 | Boots: Steve Madden | Necklace: Betsey Johnson via Rue La La}
So, I recently purchased this midi skirt. I thought I needed more printed skirts that I was comfortable in for day-to-day and work. (I recently got rid of a lot of my mid-length printed skirts, because I never wore them! Now all I have left is solid maxis and printed minis!)

I didn't really expect it to be difficult to style, since it's just black & white and a pretty basic print. However, when I saw this photo of Ashley Olsen, I knew I HAD to copycat this style! In my eyes, the Olsens can do no wrong! Ever!

Though I keep my Louboutins stored away for special occasions (Hah!), I found that I had similar enough pieces to basically replicate Ashley's lovely look! I'll have to remember to add the beanie the next time I have a bad hair day! Ta-da!
