Basics

{tee: target |  jeans: justfab (similar) | boots: target | sunglasses: target | bracelets: alex & ani | watch: marc by marc jacobs | necklace: vintage - my aunt's (similar) | purse: rebecca taylor (similar)}
Sometimes, an outfit that consists entirely of basics feels more fashionable than anything trendy. I felt classically comfy in this black tee, skinny jeans, and new booties. I was, however, slightly out of place at a Miley Cyrus concert. ;) To fit in, I'd have needed a little more fur, a little more weird, and a little more of my butt showing...

All Navy, All Week

{sweater: old navy | top: nordstrom (similar) | jeans: forever 21 | flats: justfab (sold out in brown - available in black) | necklace: vintage - my aunt's (similar) | watch: urban outfitters (similar)}

One fun perk about the #sublife? You can wear the same outfit 3 (or maybe 5...) days in a row, and no one will notice! If you're at a different school everyday, and you aren't seeing any of the same people, you can totally rock the same outfit repeatedly. I changed this one up on a couple of days and added some booties and a scarf, but you get the idea. This shirt is just so comfy I couldn't bear to take it off. And hey... I may even wash it...

Weekend Society

{plaid shirt: urban outfitters | tank: c/o weekend society | shorts: urban renewal | boots: sam edelman | watch: urban outfitters (similar) | bracelet: c/o old north wind | silver ring: vintage (similar) | turquoise ring: street vendor in mexico (similar)}
When Weekend Society first contacted me to check out their store, I pretty much fell in love immediately! Their mission - We are devoted to the wanderers, the wild ones, and those who believe there is still a bit of mystery in the world. We support all those who have made it their mission to never grow boring. - is so magically enchanting, and their pieces are adorable! I am such a sucker for stars & stripes, maps, and anything Native American-inspired, so Weekend Society's style is right up my alley!

I paired their Republic tank with cutoffs, boots, and plaid flannel when I headed to the Orange County Fair last weekend to see Hunter Hayes! (P.S. Hunter Hayes was almost as adorable as this tank is!)

These are some more of my favorite items from Weekend Society's shop! I am pretty much crazy in love with that Coronado Crewneck - I may just have to scoop that up before the Fall chill hits! ;) Don't forget to head over to Weekend Society and let me know what your favorite piece is!

White Blazers for Summer

{blazer: forever 21 (similar) | shirt: j. crew (similar) (similar) | shorts: vintage levi's via urban outfitters | huaraches: justfab (similar) | necklace: forever 21 (gift from chelsea - similar) | watch: nordstrom (similar)}

I feel like a white blazer just screams summertime! While a blazer can often be taken as business wear, by pairing it with a casual t-shirt, jean cutoffs, and island-y huarache sandals, you can really dress it down and make a blazer wearable for day, or for a fun night out! I happened to wear this out for dinner and drinks with some of my gal pals from grad school, saying sayonara to the school year and hellooooo to summer break!

Having trouble picturing yourself in a blazer outside of the office? Here are a few ideas to mix a white blazer into your summertime wardrobe!

{blazer / shorts / tank / purse / necklace / sandals}
This is a take on the way I styled my blazer, but I toughened it up a bit with a wild graphic, leopard print, and some serious hardware!

{headband / earrings / loafers / dress / blazer / belt}
This is a nice way to incorporate a more feminine vibe to take away from the starkness of a white blazer! Florals, girly colors, and a cute little bow headband make a white blazer wearable for a day of errands, for brunch, or even for a date night!

{pants / blazer / heels / top / purse / necklace (similar) / bracelet / watch}
If all else fails, stick to what you know! Pair that blazer with some white pants to make your own suit for the office - or for a swanky night out! ;)

Do you own a white blazer? How do you like to style it?

Cowgirl Chic?

{jacket: j. crew | tee: everlane | skirt, belt, & boots: target | necklace: vintage}
The minute I saw these boots, the only pair left at a dwindling Target shoe section, I knew I had to have them. They are basically me, as a boot. The southwestern, multicolored yarn detailing is so pretty! I thought they needed to be paired with a basic ensemble, so I went for a simple black skirt, white t, and denim jacket. The only problem? I'm pretty sure I look a little bit like a cowgirl...

Celeb Style - My Way: Ashley Madekwe

{jacket: j. crew | sweater: nordstrom | skirt: asos | boots: vintage | watch: urban outfitters}
Do you all know who Ashley Madekwe is? Well, truth be told, I didn't. Apparently, she's on Revenge, which I obviously don't watch. Anyway, I noticed her outfits being pinned often on Pinterest, and wondered where they were coming from. Well, she has her own fashion blog! I promptly (ok it took me 3 days) went through all of the posts up on Ring My Bell, and found so much inspiration from her quirky yet sexy outfits! (Yes, those are two odd adjectives to pair together, but check out her blog and see for yourself!)

Anyway, I recently bought this (p)leather skater skirt, and am so excited to figure out different ways to style it! Pairing it with denim is the perfect way to make it day-friendly, and I love the pop of red with it all! [Let's ignore the fact that I chose to go without tights and a hat on a day when it was 50 and raining...]

PJs?

{Blouse: Luna | Jeans: JustFab | Boots: Vintage | Purse & Black ring: Forever 21 | Gold ring: House of Harlow | Bracelet: derng | Watch: Nordstrom}
I wore this a couple weeks ago to the Miike Snow concert! It wasn't completely blistering this day, so I was able to wear long sleeves AND boots - shocking! Don't worry, though, it was scorching inside the Palladium, especially during the serious Animal-inspired dance party! This show marked our 5th time

P.S. This blouse kind of reminds me of PJs. Remember when pajamas were supposedly in style for 5 minutes? Yeah, I bet you're all glad you didn't invest in that trend.
