The Day I Wore Shorts to Work

{shirt: old navy (this year's version) | shorts: j. crew factory (similar, similar) | flats: justfab (sold out - similar, similar)}

1. I have been looking for the perfect pair of brown shorts of an appropriate length for a year now.

2. Remember this outfit from last summer? It was envisioned as shorts… it took me a year to bring this outfit dream to fruition!

3. Apparently I am someone who wears shorts to work. (Trust me, I work in a very casual environment and even in shorts, I tend to be the most dressed-up person there…)

4. Apparently I also couldn't open up my eyes this morning… I'm not a morning person… You know that saying "But first, coffee?" Well, for me, it's more like, "But first, noon."

5. These are my favorite shoes as of late, but they've basically become unwearable… just like another pair of d'orsay flats I have, they are so stretched out they won't even stay on my feet! I have put 2 heel backs inside, but I'm not sure if that made it better or worse! Does anyone else have this problem with d'orsay flats?! HELP!

Cape Town

{cape: c/o sammydress | blouse: nordstrom (similar) (similar) | skirt: urban outfitters (similar) | heels: justfab}
So, when the "cape" trend first came on the scene, I was wary. It basically just seemed like a coat with misplaced and/or missing armholes. However, when I got the opportunity to browse the endless (and super affordable!) pieces on SammyDress, I was instantly smitten with this cape! When it arrived on my doorstep (don't you just love online shopping?), I knew it was the perfect piece to top an evening look. How sweet would this outfit be at wedding or a holiday party? FYI, cape + black and white + Peter Pan collar = my new favorite thing! (P.S. Be careful when posing, as not to look like a nun.)

What do you think of the cape trend? Are you on board?

All Navy, All Week

{sweater: old navy | top: nordstrom (similar) | jeans: forever 21 | flats: justfab (sold out in brown - available in black) | necklace: vintage - my aunt's (similar) | watch: urban outfitters (similar)}

One fun perk about the #sublife? You can wear the same outfit 3 (or maybe 5...) days in a row, and no one will notice! If you're at a different school everyday, and you aren't seeing any of the same people, you can totally rock the same outfit repeatedly. I changed this one up on a couple of days and added some booties and a scarf, but you get the idea. This shirt is just so comfy I couldn't bear to take it off. And hey... I may even wash it...

Road Trippin' in Aeropostale Fall Fashion

{jacket: j. crew | lace top: c/o aeropostale | jeans: justfab | sandals: urban outfitters | necklace: nordstrom}
Another adorable piece from Aeropostale's Fall line! I wore this comfy lace tunic tank for the 7-hour drive with my mom up the state of California for a little vacation in Sonoma County! I have been looking for the perfect lace top for awhile, and I finally found it here at Aero! In a classic color and shape, and paired with neutral staples, this kept me comfy and in style for the long trip, and for a tasty dinner out at Rosso (and ice cream at Lala's) in Petaluma!

Neon Nation

{sweater / jeans / heels c/o / necklace}
Oh boy. I feel like Queen of the Neon Nation in this outfit. This highlighter yellow sweater accompanied by these special neon/neutral sandals felt perfect to me to spend a cloudy Cinco de Mayo at a work event. I threw on this statement necklace to add even more POP. The double dose of neon could have been too much, but the relaxed boyfriend jeans and classic tan against the bright coral shoes broke up the bright just a touch.

Have you embraced the neon trend into your closet yet?

Mini Houndstooth. Mini Facts.

{Top: eShakti | Jeans: Just Fabulous | Boots: Steve Madden | Heart pin: bando | Bangles: Old Navy | Watch: Nordstrom}

So, this is my favorite piece so far that I've gotten from eShakti! I love the silhouette, the mini olive houndstooth, the epaulets, and the brass buttons! Precious! [If you're interested in snagging one of your own, you can still use my special discount code DAILYDANI0811 for $20 off your order through the end of the year!]

Au Francais. One of my most favorite prints/art that I have on my wall is a French High Fidelity poster I found in a random shop I happened upon in a little hidden alley in Paris.

Kling-On. In 9th grade, my boyfriend and I bumped heads at lunch, which caused my forehead to swell up into the size of a grapefruit, and later drain down into my face causing two black eyes. I still have a small bump above my eyebrow.

{Oh yeah, I bet you thought I was exaggerating...}
Couple Crush. In following last weeks comedy crush suit, let it be known that I have a big fat couple crush on Amy Poehler and Will Arnett. Separately: Fantastic. As one: Perfection.

Classic With a Twist.

{Sweater & Square ring: Nordstrom | Jeans: JustFab | Flats: Blowfish via Century 21 | Belt | Vintage via Urban Renewal | Watch: Shock Boutique | Necklace: Luna | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture | Purse: ShoeDazzle}

Yesterday, my mom and I went to Hollywood to see Martha Marcy May Marlene. I think I can officially be obsessed with Lizzie Olsen now. Then we went to the Papaya King and I had a delicious hot dog. FYI: Hot dogs are my favorite food, and this one was quite delish!

I felt good in this outfit. It felt super classic with the flats, dark denim, and tucked-in black crewneck, but the Native American belt and glitzy jewelry gave it a little twist, a nice little punch.

P.S. Don't forget - I'm currently accepting sponsors for November! E-mail me if you're interested in a sponsorship, affiliate program, product review, or giveaway with The Daily Dani! :)
