Blue Blue Blue

{Shirt: Aeropostale | Belt & Skirt: Target | Necklace: ILY Couture | Flats: Tory Burch | Watch: Nordstrom}
This outfit made me happy. Royal blue is my 2nd favorite color. (Does my inner preschooler come out when I say that?) It's also probably my favorite color to wear. A royal blue buffalo check shirt? Yes. A royal blue skirt? Yes. A royal blue slide? Apparently, yes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, a bubble necklace is the perfect addition to basically every outfit. Can I collect them in every color? Maybe. Am I going to try? Yes.

Feddas.

{Dress: Old Navy | Belt: Target | Flats: Shoe Mint | Chain Link Necklace: derng | Monogram: BaubleBar | Watch: Nordstrom}
I love feathers. Did you know? Always have, always will. I know feathers are super trendy these days, and I hit the feather hair extensions trend hard a couple years ago, but I've really always loved feathers. I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to feathers. I think it began with my love of Tiger Lily in the Mary Martin version of Peter Pan that I used to watch excessively when I was little. Followed by my love of Tiger Lily in the Disney version of Peter Pan. Followed by my love of Pocahontas. Let's just say, I'm into feathers.

[Reason for this post title? A few years ago, there was a boy at my work (I'm a preschool teacher) who pronounced feathers as, "feddas." Now, every time I think of or say feathers, I am always inclined to say, "feddas." Come on, try it. You'll like it.]

Warm-Weather Layers

{Dress & "Leather" Jacket: Target | Vest: J. Crew | Booties: Modcloth | Necklace: MixFeel etsy shop | Watch: Nordstrom | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture}

I kind of love this outfit. I spent many hours in it, performing a variety of activities including, but not limited to, (1) waking up at the crack of dawn to get my tire fixed after getting a flat at 1am on the side of the freeway, (2) enjoying a tasty donut & chocolate milk while waiting for said tire to be fixed, (3) driving to and from south OC to central OC, and also from central OC to Hollywood, (4) having some tasty appetizers at Dillon's Pub, (5) seeing the Book of Mormon at the Pantages [Let's just say: LOL.], (6) walking the dog I was watching 2-3 times. All the while, through my lengthy day (that also went from 50 degrees in the AM to the mid-90s in the PM...), I hardly even felt tired, thanks to the snazzy layers adorning my person. I really can't wait until it finally gets cooler here, so I can really rock my layers!

Sunday Song: The Lumineers

Yes, I know this song has been out for quite awhile, but I have recently decided that I love it more than I loved it before. Lately, every time it comes on the radio, I have to sing along, to every single word and "hey!" I need to start listening to the rest of their songs immediately - what's your favorite Lumineers song??

Friday's Fancies: Party Attire!

This week's Friday's Fancies theme is party attire, to celebrate the 100th Friday's Fancies link-up! I can't believe I caught on so late in the game, but I'm so glad I'm linking up now!

{Tights / Flats / Blazer / Dress (similar) / Necklace / Earrings (similar) / Ring / Clutch}

If you ask me, nothing says fabulosity like rocking a monochromatic look! Red always makes a bold statement, and with a flouncy party dress, some cute & comfy flats, and a blazer to pull it all together, you'll be sure to catch the attention and admiration of your fellow party guests! Anchor your outfit with neutral accessories, and you've got it going on! How FUN are these polka dot tights? They are sure to make a statement! Plus, I'm dying over that ring and those earrings - such strong, yet versatile, pieces! Can every one of these items please find their way to my closet immediately?!

What's your favorite party ensemble?

Cozy Time

{Sweater: Oasap | Leggings: Target | Socks & Boots: Steve Madden | Watch: Nordstrom}

OMG, EVERYBODY! IT RAINED! It rained for 5 whole hours in Orange County! Don't worry, though, it was 80 again the next day...

Nevertheless, I was super excited to throw on some cozy socks and a cozy sweater dress and cozy comfy leggings to brave the crisp 60 degree weather.

Downside? Kids inside all day at work. Upside? This outfit.

Celeb Style - My Way: Amber Heard [+ Macy's Coat Review!]

{Coat: c/o Macy's | Shirt & Jeans: Forever 21 | Loafers: Shoe Dazzle | Necklace (Gift) & Watch: Nordstrom}

Lately, I've become pretty much in love with Amber Heard's street style! She always looks perfectly imperfect, and I love all of her fun, undone details. I've been particularly caught up with her khaki coat looks! So, when Macy's reached out to me to review one of their coats, I knew what I was looking for! They have so many adorable coats and jackets to choose from, and although I was secretly lusting after a floor-length puffer coat, I had to admit to myself that California "winters" really called for something a bit lighter, so I went for this adorable color block pea coat! I love that it's a classic with a twist, and I swoon over the subtle feminine details! Not only was their customer service outstanding, but this coat is also beautifully made, and fits like a dream. I know it will keep me warm (and stylish) in the upcoming winter months!

Is a color block pea coat not quite your style? Don't worry, Macy's has SO many adorable (& affordable!) coats for you to choose from! I picked out a few more of my favorites to share with you, along with some head-to-toe looks to accompany them!

{Trench Coat / Necklace / Earrings / Shirt / Jeans / Loafers / Watch / Belt}

{Pea Coat / Scarf / Sweater / Beanie / Watch / Purse / Booties / Jeans}

{Puffer Coat / Purse / Pants / Sweater / Boots / Scarf / Watch / Earrings / Ring}

{Coat / Dress / Bow / Bracelet / Ring / Earrings / Purse / Pumps}

So go on, head over to Macy's and pick out your favorite coat to fall head over heels into autumn and prepare for the winter months!

Ikat!

{Shirt: Target | Jeans: Seven For All Mankind | Sandals: Old Navy | Bubble Necklace: ILY Couture | Monogram Necklace: BaubleBar | Watch: Nordstrom}
I lusted after these jeans for months. I had a severe internal debate between buying these and the Citizens floral jeans. I finally decided on these pretties during an unplanned, after work shopping trip and just dove right in! I thought they were more versatile during the floral pair. [Note the patterned jean fabulosity of my blog header, please.] They also ended up going on sale about 3 days after I bought them, and the most fabulous of all stores, Nordstrom, gave me a price adjustment! Anyway, turns out, I've only worn them 3 times in 6 months... Perhaps they aren't as versatile as I thought?! Do you have any ideas on how to style these bad boys?

Concert Attire or Cowboy Movie Villain?

{Blazer: Forever 21 | Top & Watch: Nordstrom | Cords: Urban Outfitters | Boots: Steve Madden | Hat: Nasty Gal}
I wore this when I went to the Tegan & Sara / Black Keys concert. When I concocted this outfit, I felt super rocker chic. When I actually wore it, I felt a bit like the villain in an old Western. Nevertheless, it's fun to look a little bit like Indiana Jones every once in awhile.

P.S. The concert was FANTASTIC! So impressed by what a two-peice band can do!

P.P.S. Yes, I am pretty much always at a concert!
