I'd fallen in love with the J. Crew version of this top awhile ago, and when I noticed it at LOFT, I knew it was finally within my financial reach! ;) Well, Cyber Monday nearly brought tears to my eyes when everything on the LOFT website was 50% off! And this sparkly little number was mine!

I bought it almost 2 months ago, but hadn't quite figured out how to wear it - yes, it's a standout piece on its own, but I felt like it needed a little pizzazz to match its special sparkle! So, I finally ended up belting it and pairing it with a double denim ensemble and a pop of bright coral shoes! What do you think? :)

Winter Evening Layers

Ahhh, the ultimate challenge for a Southern California girl: what to wear for evening when it's cold! (And seriously, it was cold. I'm talking low 30s with a chance of rain. THAT IS COLD, PEOPLE.)

Anyway, my style aesthetic came up with a very obvious answer: layers! I piled on a dress, tights, booties, sweater, jacket, and hat! I probably could have added a scarf and gloves, I swear, I was so cold! 

I wore this for an evening in LA with my mom. We had dinner at Engine Co 28 for Dine LA Week (Helloooo, delicious cheeseburger...) and then headed to the Ahmanson to see Backbeat - the story of the early years of my favorite band, The Beatles! And a good (warm) time was had by all.

Leather, Military, Leopard, Stars & Stripes

So, I've been super into layering lately. We hit a cold spell here in So Cal for awhile. I know you're probably scoffing at me, but 30 degrees in Southern California is COLD!Anyway, when I layer, I love to mix color, pattern, texture, shine... I've learned a lot from Stacy & Clinton over the years. ;) Pairing (faux) leather, olive military, leopard, and stars & stripes - you can't mix much more pattern than that! Plus, this top (it's actually a muscle tank) was a random purchase at the Forever 21 in Vegas. I was feeling kind of shlubby that day, so I ended up buying this top because it is craaazy soft and super comfy! Plus, in case you all didn't know, I'm a sucker for stars & stripes!
