Flashback: 6 months - Legends of Summer Tour with Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z is announced, my friends and I group iMessage upon announcement, and purchase tickets immediately!

Flash forward: Present day - After months of e-mails and planning and arranging, we finally got to spend the day we'd been anxiously waiting for up in Pasadena tailgating, hanging in the sunshine, and eventually rocking out to one of the best concerts of the summer!

I wanted to wear an outfit that would keep me cool all day but not let me freeze at night! So I went with this maxi and button-down chambray, and brought this awesome chunky sweater to keep me cool when the sun went down! I can't wait to rock this soft and comfy oversized cardigan in all fall long!

Easy Breezy

Whew! I've had a very busy past week and a half! In the past 10 days, I've been to 6 concerts, worked a few days, been to one of my best friend's bridal showers, and had a few charming little outings! I wore this outfit to a breakfast date and walk along San Pedro last week. It was a warm day, but the ocean breeze was a pleasant accompaniment to the heat and sunshine!

Ahhh, what a day this was. I woke up with a stomach bug of some sort, but had tickets to see Aziz Ansari with my friend in San Bernardino! Well, I fought through it, we drove quite a distance, had some sushi (which I had to force down, then almost barfed up - sorry for that imagery), and fought through my feverish tendencies, all whilst getting lost in scary neighborhoods and then laughing at Aziz. Upside: He was hilarious!

Other upside: I liked how I looked! I got more blonde in my hair finally - I was over the ombre and needed to brighten up. This sweater combines many things that I love - mint, leopard, and super softness. I'm in love. Never mind that I ended taking it off and putting my hair in a messy bun during a hot flash. It looked good while it lasted.

Bun. Pink. Leopard. Weird.

I hate it when I wear my hair in a bun. If you've all noticed, I typically wear my hair the same way on the daily. If my hair is really dirty or not cooperating or I'm lazy pressed for time, I go for the very occasional and rare top knot. And I always hate it.

Anyway, I had a love/hate relationship with this outfit. I was super confident as I descended the stairs, but after looking at the outfit in photos, I hated it. As the day went on, I got rid of the belt, untucked the shirt, messed around with my aching top knot, and didn't hate it quite as much.

...but I still might hate it.

Jury's still out.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

We get what I consider to be a very awkward weather pattern here in Southern California. While "normal" regions of this country have summertime in June, July, August, we really start heating up in August, and our hottest month in September. This September is record-breaking. We've been in the 90s for weeks, and sometimes, the thought of putting on clothes is purely tortuous. When I woke up last Friday, the only thing I could bear to put on was a sheer tank and floaty skirt.

I can't wait for tomorrow. It's going to be 99... F word.

Valentine's Day in July?

Doesn't this look feel like Valentine's Day? I guess I was just full of love. Perhaps it's because I consumed my first alcoholic beverage since my surgery? I wore this earlier this week for dinner and drinks with Holly. The color of the blouse makes me happy, and I LOVE my new "blogger" bubble necklace! It took me a long time do decide if I liked these necklaces, but once I did, I was super excited to win one from Hayley's blog giveaway! Layered with my monogram necklace, it made me smile every time I looked down!

This was my first FULL DAY multi-outing post-surgery! I spent the afternoon at an Angel game with my dad (check out my hideous farmer's tan!), came home for a couple hours to rest a bit, and went out to a lovely little wine bar in Brea for my friends Sarah & Dan's engagement party. I got this dress on sale from Shop Bop with a gift certificate I won from Chasing Davies! It is so soft & silky, delicate & girly, and the soft peaches & pinks feel perfect for summertime!

Mish-Mosh Pish-Posh

I really love this outfit! It's a total mish-mosh of random pieces that I threw together one morning, but I think it's just fantastic! I'm finally remembering to wear my denim jacket. I recovered from my leopard sandal fashion amnesia and remembered these bad boys! I rarely wear this necklace, because it's my "fancy" necklace. In Dani language, "fancy" means "expensive." But I finally came to terms with the fact that if I'm not wearing it to work, where the heck am I wearing it? (Plus, no one provides compliments more than 4-year-old girls.) Ta-da!

Another maxi skirt for the win! I bought it while I was in Hawaii, to bring a little sunshine into my legs life. I anchored it down with this black safari-esque elephant tee, and some studded gladiator sandals! I remember how amazed I was by these sandals when I bought them about 3 years ago... I thought they were the coolest things I'd ever seen, and spent a pretty penny on them... Then every little junky shoe store on earth made knock-offs for a quarter of the price. Gosh darn my need for instant gratification!
